Croydon Liberal Democrats have launched a Manifesto for Croydon. Fresh from their sensational by-election win at Dunfermline and West Fife and Sir Menzies Campbell's decisive election as party leader, Croydon Lib Dems have enjoyed a substantial rise in membership, rising by over 10% in March alone. "These are exciting times for the Lib Dems," said Coulsdon East councillor, Ian Atkins. Launching their first Manifesto for Croydon, fellow candidate Simon Hargrave said: "This document emphasises our commitment to localism and to Croydon in particular." The manifesto includes proposals that will:
"By launching it on the web, we are also emphasising our long-standing commitment to the environment," said Simon. Elections to Croydon council take place across the borough on May 4th.
