Christina Tyree has been selected as the local Liberal Democrat candidate for the Bensham Manor by-election on 8th February.

Christina has background in local government, has worked in the NHS and is committed to the voluntary sector.

"I want to find feel safe while I'm shopping in the area or waiting for my bus," said Christina, "I want to work with local people to make our area better."

The by-election has been caused by a senior Labour councillor standing down less than a year after being elected.

Christina promises to:

  • Serve her full term if elected and work for Bensham Manor to 2010 and beyond.

  • Speak up for local people, whoever they are.

  • Take up issues that matter to local people

Christina is already active in the area, seeking and listening to people's views.
