The Liberal Democrats are commited to a carbon neutral Britain

Liberal Democrats in Croydon have welcomed the results of an audit of policies of the three main political parties that shows the Liberal Democrats as the best for the environment.

A group of major environmental organisations were awarded 'green lights' according to how green their policies are. The results were:

1st - Lib Dems 3

2nd - Labour 1

3rd - Tories 0

"This audit has confirmed what we have been saying in Croydon for many years," said Simon Hargrave, Chair of the Croydon Liberal Democrats. "Liberal Democrats are leading the battle of ideas for protecting the environment and cutting pollution."

The Lib Dems have confirmed that they have a vision for a carbon neutral Britain by 2050

The organisations carrying out the audit included Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, National Trust, RSPB, Woodland Trust and WWF.
